Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) ended Monday’s trading session in the green zone, gaining 0.2% or 4.17 points, and closing at the level of 2,087.62 points.
The main index rose on the back of blue chip stocks, as Jopetrol, Al-Eqbal, Jordan Islamic Bank, Cairo Amman Bank, and Orange, rose by 0.29%, 2.33%, 0.27%, 0.53%, and 1.43% respectively.
The industrial sector added 1%, as Lafarge lead the session’s gainers with 4.76%, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing gained 3.22%, while Phosphate Mines was today’s biggest loser and dropped 5.05%.
Similarly, the services sector increased 0.21%, on the back of Jopetrol, as well as Afaq and JTEL which grew 1.34% and 1.43% respectively.
On the other hand, the financial sector slipped 0.05% as Jordan Kuwait Bank and Arab Banking Corporation fell 1.38% and 0.81% respectively, while Arab Bank decreased 0.32% and registered the highest turnover at JOD 398,060.
Total traded volume increased to 4.2 million shares compared to 4.1 million shares on Sunday.
Total turnover also went up to JOD 4.3 million from JOD 3.6 million in the last session.
