DFM grows on real estate stocks Monday

Dubai-Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a positive performance on Monday amid a rise in trading activity.

The general index rose 0.89% or 30.90 points to reach 3,515.22 points.

Trading volume reached 133.29 million shares on Monday, compared to 119.23 million shares on Sunday. Turnover stood at AED 288.78 million, compared to AED 203.7 million.

The real estate sector topped gainers with a 2.2% rise, backed by Emaar Properties, Emaar Malls Group and Arabtec Holding which grew 3.16%, 2.76% and 1.91% respectively.

The banks sector advanced 0.02% as Al Salam Bank – Bahrain went up 0.67%.

On the other hand, the telecom sector was the worst performer after declining 1.35%, weighed down by du which decreased 1.35%.

The investment sector slid 0.18% after Dubai Investments decreased 0.95%.
