Riyadh – Mubasher: The Senior Saudi Prince Miteb bin Abdullah, was released on Tuesday after authorities approved settlement agreement under which he will pay more than $1 billion, a Saudi official on Wednesday said.
The value of settlement was not revealed but it is expected to be more than $1 billion, Reuters reported, citing the official as saying.
“It is understood that the settlement included admitting corruption involving known cases,” the official added.
The Saudi official stated that at least three other persons of the arrested have also finalised settlement agreements.
The Saudi Public Prosecutor decided to free a number of involved persons, and to prosecute at least 5 individuals.
Miteb was the former head of the elite National Guard, and he was among the persons who were arrested after the government started an anti-corruption crackdown in early November.
